Well here we are at week 6 half way through the class. Learning to blog has been an interesting process. I like to try and keep in touch with others but between their schedules and mine it has been hard. Most of my friends are in Virginia, others are in Milwaukee. I have been trying to reconnect with my godmother and hopefully this summer we can. She is a principal at a Catholic grade school in Milwaukee and I miss her very much. In high school she was my main support. She helped me in ways that I never would have thought of. My going back to school right now is with her support and my daughter's. They are so sure that I will accomplish this and be a better person for it. I love being a nurse but have some medical problems that are making it harder to do my job. I want to stay in the medical field so I have chosen to become a medical transcriptionist. This way I can still help others.

  1. Wow Carla, I never wanted to have anything to do with nursing because I thought I would not be able to watch people suffering, but now I wish I had medical training to try to help relieve suffering, especially during crises. This is why I am taking the Red Cross disaster action team training. I am too old to be a nurse. :-) . . . but hopefully, I can still help people in times of disaster.

  2. Well shy or not i am glad you want to stay in the medical field. We need good people. You can do the school it just takes awhile for you get through it. I feel i have been in it forever. Stop and breath and know you can get through this. As we get older it is harder to get the modivation to do it. I envy you being a nurse. I like my field just didn't think i had the brains for the nursing but i love my cancer patients. Maybe one day if i change up but i liking the office management part. I feel i handle that better.
    Good luck in your career.
